Unsharp Mask

The Unsharp Mask is a function derived from traditional film technology. When used properly, it can eliminate blur that arises during photographing, scanning, etc. This type of sharpening is extremely suitable for photographs, because it is dependent on the way a photographic image is drawn.

Zoner Photo Studio offers an advanced unsharp mask tool, with adjustable effect strength, masking radius, and brightness difference (threshold). This method brings superb results, although it demands either some acquaintance with the techniques involved or a bit of experimentation.
